    Universal and Illumination Entertainment's “The Grinch,” the remake of the Dr. Seuss classic “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” earned $2.2 million in Thursday previews from 3,200 screens. It will open on 4,140 screens this weekend.
    Universal is projecting an opening weekend of $50 million for “The Grinch” and as high as $62 million based on numbers from independent trackers.
